Lead Technology Consultant | Technology & Management Consulting

Location: London Engagement: Permanent Package: £120,000 to £160,000 base + performance-related bonus, strong pension, private healthcare Sponsorship: No sponsorship available for this position

The Opportunity

A Lead Technology Consultant role with a leading management consultancy, ideal for professionals with a background in engineering or solution architecture who now lead advisory work. This role combines sales and consulting—hunting for new business while maintaining a hands-on delivery footprint.

Our client is a prestigious management consultancy with a strong technology and digital advisory practice across the UK. They collaborate with organisations in sectors including:

  • Health & life sciences
  • Consumer & manufacturing

They are scaling their experienced-hires team, hiring several Lead Technology Consultants through 2026.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Development
    • Build pipeline and win high-value advisory engagements against a personal quota.
    • Lead sales conversations, shape solutions, and close deals at senior levels.

  • Solution Design

    • Leverage expertise in software engineering, application development, or solution architecture to design credible, sellable approaches for complex client challenges.
  • Client Lifecycle

    • Act as a trusted advisor from the first consultation through to delivery, maintaining engagement ownership.
  • Cross-Sector Selling

    • Focus on a dominant go-to-market sector while flexibly advising adjacent industries.
  • Delivery Oversight

    • Balance commercial targets with hands-on involvement in large, complex engagements.
  • Practice Growth

    • Contribute to proposition development, consulting team growth, and capability enhancement.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • New business pipeline with a track record of hitting targets (mandatory).
  • Technical foundation in:
    • Software engineering
    • Application development
    • Solution architecture
  • Consulting sales experience in technology advisory or transformation (not pure delivery).
  • Ability to lead sales conversations, tailor deals, and secure client commitments.
  • Clarity on primary market focus, with adaptability across sectors.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects while aligning commercial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications a plus (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or cloud/architecture credentials).
