Lead Assurance Architect
Information Intelligence Group (IIG), part of CACI UK, is a specialist technical consultancy delivering bespoke solutions to complex operational challenges. We're seeking a senior Governance and Assurance Architecture lead to drive high-assurance design across regulated environments within our Central Government business.
About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Solutions/Assurance Architect to shape and steer technical design authority over solution development and implementation. As the Lead Assurance Architect, you’ll provide oversight, embed governance and compliance, and deliver secure, scalable, and auditable outcomes across critical public sector programmes.
Security Clearance & NPPV3: This role requires SC/DV and NPPV3 clearance. Notably, it’s limited to UK citizens with a minimum of 5 years permanent residence in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical design authority-level oversight over solution development and implementation.
- Advise and assure the technical feasibility and compliance of supplier designs and technical implementation plans.
- Deliver technical assurance on supplier documentation and deliverables.
- Identify key integration risks, propose resolutions or mitigations, and escalate critical issues.
- Participate in connectedness validation activities and technical issue resolution phases during testing.
- Support the Technical Design Authority (TDA) "spoke" with architectural expertise.
- Design and maintain technical architectures ensuring security, scalability, and compliance for system environments.
- Provide technical assurance for service gateway and IDENT1 components, focusing on secure-by-design principles.
- Chair monthly system-level Security Working Groups, aligning architects, engineers, and risk teams.
- Lead security architecture, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and governance on publicly facing projects.
- Foster collaboration between supply chain, assurance, and operational teams to embed compliance rigor at all stages.

Key Knowledge & Skills
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) expertise with hands-on experience embedding controls in architecture and delivery.
- Proven ability to lead assurance boards, design authorities, and technical review boards, ensuring rigorous standards.
- Solution and Enterprise Architecture competency, ensuring secure, scalable systems aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Public sector or highly regulated environment experience, with familiarity in NCSC, ISO, and GDPR; developing secure and compliant solutions.
- Consulting/Professional Services background, excelling at client engagement, solution shaping, and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Secure-by-design foundation, specialising in identity management, data protection, and risk mitigation models.
- Practical understanding of AWS cloud platforms including governance models, secure landing zone concepts, and application frameworks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, translating complex architectural and compliance concepts across technical and non-technical audiences.
