About the Role
This is a senior, dual-responsibility role for an ambitious, forward-thinking creator. As our Lead Athlete Storyteller (Brands), you’ll:
- Act as the premium creative force, crafting how elite athletes’ narratives align with diverse global brands.
- Lead the intersection of athlete identity and brand alignment, transforming personal moments, training, and competitive milestones into compelling, platform-native narratives that resonate with contemporary culture.
- Architect, scale, and mentor a world-class creative team as we expand—build toward a long-term legacy within the agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Portfolio Oversight:
- Lead creative strategy and execution for our brand partner portfolio, ensuring seamless blending of raw, authentic athlete narratives with high-value brand integrations.

High-Velocity Content Production:
- Act as the lead in-the-moment content creator, shooting and editing nimble short-form (Instagram Reels, TikTok) and long-form content within elite sporting environments, delivered in real time.

Relationship & Trust Management:
- Build peer-to-peer trust with an elite roster of athletes across disciplines, enabling raw personal storytelling without compromising their focus.
- Maintain 1:1 athlete relationships, respecting boundaries while fostering transparency.

Team Building & Future Strategy:
- Drive expansion of the Athlete Storytelling department, recruiting, mentoring, and managing junior talent to scale operations.

Cultural & Data-Informed Direction:
- Analyze platform analytics and digital trends to identify structural content gaps. Apply this insight to rapidly pivot and refine content for maximum impact.
- Stay ahead of internet culture shifts, translating them into high-performing edits and narratives.

Ecosystem Optimisation:
- Coordinate real-time communication with athletes to ensure consistent, high-confidence coverage around global competitive or cultural milestones.
Required Skills & Experience

Elite Athlete & Brand Experience:
- 5+ years in high-profile professional athlete management, creatorlovement, or sports brand partnerships—experience navigating pressure-intensive environments.

Cultural & Creative "Edge":
- A portfolio demonstrating ability to elevate sports media—making content look cool, distinct, and disruptive. Must understand deepest subcultures across athlete reputation and brand messaging integration.

Elite Mobile Mastery:
- Proficient in rapid mobile workflows (CapCut, in-app editing). Ability to deliver premium-quality content in minutes, not days.

YouTube & Hybrid Execution:
- Expertise spanning both "lo-fi" storytelling (quick-turn) and high-production shoots, demonstrated through proven YouTube ecosystem architecture and scaling.

Relationship Building & Ambition:
- Exceptional emotional intelligence, team focus, and absolute respect for athlete boundaries. Ye aspiring to own and build features of a growing department.

Data Literacy:
- Capacity to leverage platform analytics for content strategy—understanding hook performance and creating data-driven direct interventions in editorial decisions.

Location & Flexibility:
- Must be London-based or with frequent access. Willing to work non-standard hours (evenings/weekends) to align with the global sporting schedule.

In 6 months, you will:
- Establish repeatable, high-performing benchmark narratives within our brand portfolio, proving a track record of native athlete-brand activation.
- Demonstrate your value as both a creative powerhouse and a strategic architect, laying groundwork for the agency’s content future.
- Secure a long-term leadership position as a cornerstone of Summus' Athlete Storytelling capabilities.
