Lead Auditor Worcestershire £48,000 to £50,000 + benefits Full-time, On-site
We're supporting a well-established manufacturer in the appointment of a Lead Auditor to join its multi-disciplinary Quality team. This is a quality systems-focused position, responsible for maintaining, improving and developing the systems and processes that underpin manufacturing quality. Alongside leading internal audits, you'll play a key role in driving compliance, continuous improvement and ensuring the Quality Management System remains effective across the business. This opportunity would suit someone currently working as a Quality Systems Engineer, Quality Engineer or Lead Auditor within a heavy manufacturing environment.
The role
- Maintain, develop and improve the Quality Management System
- Plan, lead and conduct internal system and process audits
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements
- Drive corrective and preventive actions through to completion
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and business processes
- Review and improve quality procedures, documentation and processes
- Work closely with production, engineering and operational teams to embed best practice
- Support external audits, certification activities and customer visits
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve quality and operational effectiveness

The person
- Experience in a Quality Systems Engineer, Quality Engineer, Lead Auditor or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems within manufacturing
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification desirable
- Experience within heavy manufacturing such as automotive, aerospace, industrial engineering, defence or similar
- Good understanding of ISO 9001, with additional standards beneficial
- Experience driving process improvement and resolving system non-conformances
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across manufacturing, engineering and quality teams
