Job Purpose Summary
This role will be key in supporting the Group on the implementation of Business Change Projects while managing a team of business analysts. It will support the delivery of an ambitious agenda for the automation of business processes across the organisation. Individuals working in the role will be an experienced ERP analyst that will work closely with business super users and the Business Transformation Programme. The individual will need to be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills. A key requirement of this role will be demonstrable experience in delivering Operation Design (Business-Processes), process re-engineering and supporting business-change projects required, system integrations post acquisitions and group strategic projects. As a leader, this role will have responsibility for the business analysis service provision within the organisation and its business units, where advice given and decisions made will have a measurable impact on the profitability and effectiveness of the organisation.
Role Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders at all levels to ensure business and IT improvements support business objectives
- Define strategies, agree and prioritise business requirements, conduct feasibility studies, produce organisational-level and detailed business models, and oversee the definition and implementation of holistic solutions
- Take responsibility for the business analysis service provision for an organisation or business unit, where advice given and decisions made have a measurable impact on profitability or effectiveness
- Determine the value proposition for the business analysis function
- Define the roles and responsibilities for business analysis staff at all levels and grades
- Take an active role with senior technical staff and specialised IT management in IT policymaking, software procurement, and hardware procurement
- Act as an advocate for the business, ensuring IT provision meets the strategic objectives of the organisation or business unit
- Recognise opportunities arising from organisational and technological change, and define change initiatives to exploit these opportunities
- Ensure business benefits are clearly defined, appropriately quantified, and managed through to realisation

Additional Responsibilities
- Advise and influence executive management throughout the business change lifecycle, ensuring change initiatives are aligned with strategy and enterprise architecture
- Work with the business at all levels to assess problems, identify opportunities, progress projects from concept, elicit requirements, and propose options
- Continuously evolve the company approach to business analysis and ensure best available methodologies, tools, and processes are used
- Allocate workload across the team for support, change, and project activity, working closely with other stakeholders
- Use SAP knowledge and experience to build SAP configuration as a core competency in the team and wider business
- Review business processes and digital customer/user journeys on an ongoing basis, developing optimisation approaches
- Manage business analysis, procedural, and training documentation, including creation, review, updating, and maintenance
- Deliver workshops and presentations to communicate new ideas and findings to stakeholders and the wider team
- Support testing cycles with IT and business resources where required to ensure credible, fit-for-purpose solutions are delivered into the business
- Document test traceability criteria, test cases/scripts, and defect logs

- KPI indicators from platforms and projects/programmes
- Process optimisation results
- Incident management-led KPIs, including aged cases and on-time closure
- Project-led KPIs, including on-time delivery, budget performance, and quality effectiveness
- Stakeholder engagement feedback
- Project management KPIs
- Team management metrics, including staff 1-2-1s, appraisals, and reviews completed on time

Skills & Personal Attributes
- Write and present fluently and persuasively on all aspects of business analysis work
- Communicate effectively with external parties, executives, and staff at all levels
- Apply techniques for investigating, analysing, modelling, and recording a business area or system of interest, including business environment analysis and process modelling
- Prepare and present business cases, requests for proposal (RFPs), invitations to tender (ITTs), and statements of requirements/work verbally and in writing
- Conduct rigorous analysis and testing using techniques such as persona development, customer journey mapping, requirements engineering, benefit analysis, change impact assessments, pulse surveys, requirement traceability, test cases/scripts, and related tools
- Hold an industry-recognised business process-related qualification
- Undertake team management and direct report-related duties
- Demonstrate experience of agile or waterfall project delivery and business analysis methodologies
- Report project updates to steering groups and stakeholders
- Show excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bring experience and knowledge from a previous Business Analyst role, ideally including leading a team, chairing meetings, holding 1-2-1s, and embedding best practice
- Demonstrate experience using and configuring SAP, as many business processes are centred on the SAP ERP system
