Lead C# Developer .Net - FinTech
Lead C# Developer / Engineer (C# .Net Desktop Application) – £100k–£105k OTE
Do you have expertise with C# desktop development, working on complex scalable C# .NET systems?
The Role
As a Lead C# Developer at a leading global Fintech firm, you’ll spearhead the development of a flagship desktop insurance platform, processing 4 billion requests per month.
You’ll:
- Lead a team of three Agile squads, encompassing experienced C# .NET developers (approx. 10 engineers in total).
- Architect, design, and develop cutting-edge features and enhancements while ensuring:
- Security
- Reliability
- Maintainability
- Usability
- Performance
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and cross-functional teams to influence design decisions and drive technical excellence.
- Champion agile practices, fostering collaborative problem-solving and continuous improvement in a high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Tech Leadership: Own the end-to-end development lifecycle for flagship desktop applications.
- Problem-Solving: Resolve complex technical issues while maintaining integrity and performance.
- Code Advocacy: Drive adoption of clean, reusable, well-structured C# code.
- Data & Scalability: Design solutions to improve system scalability, data processing, and efficiency.
- Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior developers and be a go-to technical authority for the team.
- Diversity of Impact: Work on both new features and critical bug fixes across a high-traffic system.

Your Background
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proficient in C#/.NET Core with experience in large-scale, event-driven systems.
- Hands-on expertise in developing desktop and high-peripheral applications with critical scalability.
- Expertise in:
- .NET Core framework
- Event-driven architecture
- Basic algorithms & data structures (OOP, SOLID principles, Design Patterns)
- Practical knowledge of:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Azure, PaaS & SaaS models
- Microservices and service orchestration
- Experience contributing to secure, high-availability systems at scale.
- Degree in Computer Science/STEM discipline with a strong foundation in maths and computing fundamentals.

- £100k–£105k package with standard clawback bonus (~20%).
- Hybrid working model: 3WFH, 2 days office-based in Reigate (flexible arrangements available).
