Job Description
Civil/Structural Engineer – Onsite Role
📍 Plymouth | 🕒 37–40 hours per week | 📅 46-week initial contract
Join our client to delivering a major 3 Basin remediation project in Plymouth This is a key onsite role where you’ll lead and coordinate civil & structural engineering activities within a dynamic Joint Project Team (JPT).
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
- Defining project requirements & preparing technical specifications 📑
- Managing engineering support and detailed design activities 🏢
- Reviewing and approving drawings, method statements & risk assessments ✔️
- Providing technical supervision of construction/deconstruction works 👷
- Supporting commissioning/decommissioning activities ⚙️
- Responding to RFIs and technical queries 💬
- Contributing to project optioneering and continuous improvement 🔄
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environment & Quality standards 🦺

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Experience of developing design assurance for complex projects
- Experience in civil engineering for complex projects
- Experience in stakeholder engagement throughout the engineering lifecycle
Desirable:
- Experience in a defence sector.
- Experience in civil sector.
- Experience of design delivery within defence projects.
- Experience in engineering lifecycle management.
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential: UK National with SC Clearance. Demonstrable suitable qualifications and experience relating to marine and mechanical engineering. Accredited Degree in an appropriate ‘STEM’ discipline (or equivalent qualification and experience)
Desirable: Chartered Engineer
