Lead Clinical Specialist Dietitian & Team Lead - CCC/Surgical
Looking for a Band 7 Specialist Clinical and Team Lead Dietitian within Critical Care and Surgical Services
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Dietitian to join our adult dietetic leadership team as a Band 7 Specialist Clinical and Team Lead Dietitian within Critical Care and Surgical services.
This is an opportunity to work within a developing service that is strengthening senior roles to prioritise specialist clinical expertise, visible team leadership, and clear accountability. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, focused on delivering high-quality patient care while continuing to improve how we work.
You will hold a specialist clinical caseload across inpatient critical care and surgical specialities, alongside leadership and line management responsibilities for your team. Working closely with other Band 7s and the wider MDT, you will play a key role in supporting safe, effective, and timely dietetic input within complex and high-risk environments.
If you are looking to develop your leadership skills, work in a specialist area, and contribute to a service that is evolving and improving, we would welcome your application.
Outside of clinical work, we are a supportive and friendly team who value connection and collaboration, with opportunities to come together informally and share experiences. We aim to balance high standards of care with a positive working environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
