Job Description Summary
GE Vernova is seeking Experienced HV Technicians to support High-Voltage commissioning and service activities on the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm. These roles are available within both the Commissioning and Services teams supporting the Dogger Bank Project.
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out HV commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, switching, and repair activities across wind turbine generator electrical systems and associated balance-of-plant interfaces.
- Ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.
- Support daily activity handovers across both commissioning and service phases to maintain continuity, operational awareness, and safe execution of work.
The successful candidate will bring:
- A strong electrical and HV background
- Sound knowledge of wind turbine electrical systems
- A demonstrable commitment to safety leadership and safe systems of work
This includes the ability to:
- Identify and manage risk
- Work within permit-to-work and electrical authorization systems
- Apply isolation and LOTO procedures
- Ensure compliance with site-specific and GE Vernova EHS standards at all times

You help ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard, supporting reliable turbine performance offshore.

This role follows a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation. While on shift, you live and work on the vessel, helping lead daily offshore activities and maintain safe, consistent delivery.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Leading HV commissioning and service activities across Wind Turbine Generator.
- Carrying out testing, switching, fault finding, maintenance, and repair on HV, MV & LV equipment.
- Supporting energisation, system validation, and handover activities.
- Guiding technicians in the field to maintain safe execution and strong technical standards.
- Promoting a safety-first culture through permits, isolations, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety rules.
- Working across teams to resolve issues and keep work progressing offshore.
What You Bring
- A recognised electrical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent vocational training.
- Strong hands-on experience with HV, MV & LV electrical systems in wind energy or a similar industrial environment.
- Experience in commissioning, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, switching, or repair.
- Knowledge of HV systems above 1000V AC / 1500V DC, including isolation, testing, and maintenance.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Experience working under safe systems of work, including permits and risk controls.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to support others in the field.
- Ability to pass GWO (Global Wind Offshore Certification).
Experience with HV switching on 11 kV / 33 kV systems, electrical authorisation frameworks, protection systems, or offshore commissioning/Service teams is essential.
