Lead - Construction Project Manager

Role Overview

The Lead - Construction Project Manager will report to the Senior Lead - Construction, on the Real Estate and Development team. You will orchestrate the end-to-end delivery of high-end DTC and B2B stores, showrooms, and workplaces. Your strategic impact lies in predicting and safeguarding aggressive opening timelines (Time) and strictly predicting and controlling budgets (Cost) while championing operational excellence during a phase of internal transformation.

Your Mission

  • Lead End-to-End Retail Deployments: Manage the execution of high-end DTC, B2B, SR, and WP construction projects from initial planning to handover, ensuring absolute adherence to tight opening schedules and budget.
  • Enforce Phase Separation: Maintain a strict boundary between the Design Phase (collaborating with internal designers to secure early sign-offs) and the Construction Phase to eliminate late-stage changes that impact delivery.
  • Manage External PMs & Vendors: Supervise outsourced Project Managers, General Contractors, and many other vendors, serving as the ultimate decision-maker for change orders, timelines, and budgets.
  • Champion Cost & Time Control: Act as the key financial and schedule forecaster for your projects, evaluating every on-site challenge through the lens of Time and Cost. Quality is given for granted.
  • Drive Internal Stakeholder Satisfaction: Partner closely with internal clients to keep them highly engaged, proactively aligned, and enthusiastic about the construction process and improvement.
  • Steer Process Optimization: Contribute actively to our ongoing organizational change by structuring scalable workflows, standardized reporting, and post-project feedback loops.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
