About SEIK Psychiatry
SEIK Psychiatry is a not-for-profit, CQC-registered neurodevelopmental assessment and support service specialising in ADHD and autism. Founded and led by neurodivergent directors, our mission is simple: to make high-quality, person-centred mental healthcare more accessible, more inclusive, and more affirming for everyone who needs it. We work with adults and children, delivering diagnostic assessments, titration, and ongoing support through a multidisciplinary team of accredited psychiatrists, nurse prescribers, and clinical support staff, all following best practice frameworks and regulated to the highest standards. Because we operate as a not-for-profit, our priority is always quality of care over margin. We keep our rates as low as possible while maintaining clinical excellence, and we actively donate assessments to help break down the structural and cultural barriers that prevent too many people from ever reaching a diagnosis.
Role Purpose
The Lead Consultant Psychiatrist sits within our peer clinical leadership structure alongside the Nurse Clinical Governance Lead, and Lead Psychological Assessor and Safeguarding Lead. This role holds the medical governance function for SEIK Psychiatry, providing peer oversight, clinical supervision, and medicines management leadership across the psychiatrist group. This is primarily a governance and leadership role rather than a direct clinical caseload appointment, however, additional sessional hours can be offered for assessment and titration if desired. The post-holder holds the medical peer governance line for SEIK Psychiatry’s contracted psychiatrists, working in close partnership with the Nurse Clinical Governance Lead, and both roles report into the Registered Manager at the Clinical Governance Committee.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Peer Governance
- Provide peer-level clinical oversight across the psychiatrist group (currently 2 full-time and 5 part-time).
- Lead regular peer case discussion and clinical supervision sessions, supporting safe and consistent diagnostic and prescribing practice.
- Act as the primary point of medical escalation for complex or high-risk cases referred by any member of the clinical team.
- Review and advise on clinical outcome data and prescribing patterns at a population level, identifying trends, risks, or learning opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
