Join a global professional services leader, committed to solving the world’s biggest challenges across energy, transport, utilities, and urbanisation.

GHD is one of the world’s leading professional services companies operating in the global markets of water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation.

Privately owned by our people, GHD provides engineering, architecture, environmental, and construction services to private and public sector clients across five continents. Focused on creating lasting community benefit, our connected global network of over 12,000 people delivers projects with high standards of safety, quality, and ethics.

The Role

As a Lead Consultant within our growing Commercial Advisory business, you will play a key role in building and delivering a new Strategy & Transformation – Energy Transition capability. This is an opportunity to work with senior client stakeholders on some of the most important challenges facing the UK energy sector, helping organisations navigate strategic, commercial, regulatory, and operational change.

This role is suited to an experienced consultant who can lead workstreams and engagements, manage day-to-day client relationships, develop practical recommendations, and help clients translate complex energy transition challenges into deliverable strategies and programmes. This role combines strong delivery leadership with growing responsibility for business development, proposition development, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams and engagements across energy transition strategy, policy, system planning, decarbonisation, and transformation.
  • Manage project delivery activities, including scope, quality, budget, risks, resourcing, and client expectations.
  • Help clients define operating models, implementation roadmaps, investment cases, and programme approaches that turn strategy into action.
  • Advise clients on commercial strategy, energy efficiency, infrastructure development, climate resilience, risk, compliance, and regulatory change.
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships, facilitate workshops, and build trusted relationships with managers, heads of function, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Lead research, analysis, and synthesis of complex evidence to develop clear, practical, and commercially grounded recommendations.
  • Prepare and oversee high-quality client deliverables, including reports, presentations, business cases, transformation roadmaps, and implementation plans.
  • Contribute to proposals, bids, proposition development, and market engagement activities as the capability grows.
  • Coach and support consultants and analysts, helping to build a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across advisory, engineering, environment, digital, and project delivery teams to bring integrated solutions to clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
