Job Description We invite you to join Ramboll as an LCDAE in our UK & Ireland design team to contribute to delivering and managing our exciting and diverse range of Transmission & Distribution projects. Your new role Ramboll UK&I have secured various packages of work for the National Grid and UK DNO’s that require an individual with strong industry presence, alongside a proven track record of delivering major Energy projects, to lead our growing portfolio of Transmission & Distribution work. The individual should be a Engineering expert in delivering large transmission & distribution energy infrastructure projects, and have experience in performing the Lead Contractor Design Approval Engineers (LCDAE) role. Our clients rightly demand high quality and innovative solutions to the challenges they set us, so we need our senior staff to have strong technical ability in civil engineering with the ability to lead and inspire project teams. All our staff work flexibly but we’d expect the majority of your working week to be spent in one of our established UK offices. Our principal transport offices are London, Southampton and Birmingham, however Ramboll have offices across the UK. You may be required to attend various projects sites across the UK as part of the role. Your key responsibilities will be: Technical delivery of infrastructure to support major Energy projects Leading and managing major infrastructure projects. Being part of wider team initiatives for technical and digital innovation. Resource and commercial management of projects. Maintain strategic relationships with clients such as National Grid, DNOs, and major developers. Lead major bids, negotiate commercial terms, and secure strategic frameworks. Contributing to managing, training and mentoring less experienced colleagues. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. Relevant professional accreditation (e.g., CEng) preferred. Technical expertise in Engineering to support major Energy projects. Experience undertaking the LCDAE role (UKBP/TP137) and/or UKBP/TP141 authorisation. Preferably registered on the Technical Assurance Master Authorisation Records Database. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Lead multi-disciplinary teams through inter-technology coordination. Additionally, candidates should: Understand the requirements of relevant UK Health and Safety Legislation and in particular Construction (Design and Management) Regulations Understand the Causes and Consequences of Impressed Voltage Understand the Requirements of UK Environmental and Waste Management Legislation Understand the Principles of Sustainability Demonstrate Design Management competency Have a thorough knowledge of National Grid Transmission Procedures UKBP/TP188, UKBP/TP184 Understand relevant National Gird Supplier Requirements, Design Manuals, Guidance, Procedures and Technical Specifications Personal Attributes: Self-motivated individual to embrace challenging projects.
