You're stepping into a fast growing data environment and owning the architecture from the ground up.
This is a UK-based European mid-market private equity firm, backing entrepreneurial management teams across technology, healthcare and financial services. The data and product capability is growing, and there's a genuine appetite to do this properly.
You'll be sitting as number two to the Director of Technology, which means real influence, real ownership, and a direct line into how data shapes the business going forward. You're not inheriting a finished platform. You're defining the roadmap, professionalising what exists, and building something modern that the whole firm can rely on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Day to day, you'll be designing and delivering enterprise data strategy, building out cloud data platforms on Azure, and bringing together siloed data sources into something coherent and scalable. You'll be hands-on with the engineering while also advising at a strategic level, working across multiple business functions and bringing stakeholders with you. This is the kind of role where your decisions actually stick.
The environment is hybrid, three days in the office and two from home. It's a permanent position with senior exposure from day one.

A background in financial services or a related environment will serve you well here.
