Lead Data Engineer
We’re seeking a Lead Data Engineer to lead our data platforms and drive how data shapes decisions across our global organisation.
This hands-on role blends technical leadership with data strategy, where you’ll design, build, and optimise scalable data solutions while mentoring a growing team and influencing our data direction.
Data powers everything at Radius, and you’ll be at the heart of it.
About the Role
You’ll oversee the design and delivery of modern, scalable data platforms, central to our Group Data Services & Reporting (DS&R) function—the core data hub supporting all eight business divisions.
A role for a technical leader who shapes architecture, guides teams, and enriches data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver complex, scalable data pipelines and models
- Guide technical direction across data engineering projects
- Mentor and manage junior engineers, fostering growth and performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions
- Drive AI/ML-ready architecture for our evolving data platform
- Establish and enforce best practices in data governance, quality, and security
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer in complex environments
- Hands-on expertise in modern data engineering tools across cloud platforms
- Deep knowledge of ETL/ELT, data architecture, and data quality frameworks
- Leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and team development
- Strong stakeholder engagement for solution design from ambiguity
- Curiosity-driven mindset focused on business impact from data

Advantageous Experience
- AWS Redshift, dbt, and Databricks proficiency
- Experience with AI/ML tooling, data preparation, orchestration and cataloguing
