Lead Data Engineer | Snowflake | Data Warehousing | DBT / Fivetran | £75,000 - £85,000 | Hybrid
We’re partnered with a growing UK business in the eCommerce sector who are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of their data warehouse function and help shape the next stage of their data capability
This is a genuine leadership role, not a step-up position. They’re looking for someone who has already operated as a Lead Engineer, led other Data Engineers, owned technical direction and remained close enough to the detail to make strong architectural decisions.
The business is heavily data-led, with data sitting at the centre of how they operate, make decisions and improve customer and commercial outcomes. You’ll be joining at a point where there is real opportunity to influence standards, improve scalability and play a key role in how the wider data platform evolves.

You’ll be leading a small team of Data Engineers while staying hands-on across the data warehouse, with a major focus on designing, developing and improving data models and pipelines within a Snowflake environment.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, helping translate complex data challenges into scalable, reliable solutions. The role will suit someone who is confident challenging thinking, setting engineering standards and balancing long-term technical quality with commercial delivery.

Key experience they’re looking for:
- Proven experience operating as a Lead Engineer
- Strong commercial experience with Snowflake
- Advanced SQL and modern data warehousing experience
- Experience with ELT tooling such as DBT and/or Fivetran
- Python experience within data environments
- Comfortable leading engineers, influencing stakeholders and owning technical decisions
Salary is £75,000 - £80,000, with a mostly remote setup and a monthly meet-up in North Devon.
