Lead Data Engineer
A world-leading financial institution is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive the evolution of its data platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of data architecture and empower data-driven decision-making within a dynamic banking environment.
The Role
- Design, build, and support modern data platforms, focusing on Databricks and cloud-based data engineering.
- Lead the migration of legacy Oracle systems to scalable, cloud-native environments.
- Support the organization's data strategy, particularly in Finance and Regulatory domains.
- Ensure high-quality, reliable data pipelines and models for analytics and reporting.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the data engineering team.
- Collaborate with Technology, Architecture, and Business teams across the organization.

What You'll Need
- Proven experience in designing and developing Data Marts using Databricks (SQL / Python).
- Strong understanding of engineering best practices including version control, CI/CD, and orchestration.
- Expertise in leading and coordinating data migration from Oracle to cloud data platforms.
- Ability to define strategies for retiring legacy ETLs and implementing cloud-native solutions.
- Experience in collaborating with DBAs, business SMEs, and architects to ensure data integrity.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical decisions to stakeholders.
