About the role

Sahaj Software is an artisanal software engineering firm built on trust, respect, curiosity, and craftsmanship delivering purpose-built solutions to drive data-led transformation for organisations. We combine Data Engineering, Platform Engineering and Data Science with a razor-sharp focus to solve complex business and technology challenges.

You'll feel at home here if you started your career writing production software, not just pipelines and you've chosen to bring that engineering rigour into the data world. We care as much about how you build as what you build: clean code, tests you trust, and systems that are easy to change six months from now.

This role is ideal for someone with large scope for growth and impact who still wants to be hands-on with technology. We aim to allow growth without becoming "post-technical."

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to deliver production quality AI and ML systems
  • Build frameworks and tooling for data ingestion from a complex variety of sources
  • Consult directly with clients on data strategy and modernising their data infrastructure and architecture (this is a consulting led role, and client trust is central to how we work)
  • Model data for increased visibility and performance
  • Own your work end to end, with real freedom to propose alternatives and make the case for doing things differently (our clients trust us, and we manage ourselves)
  • Work in short sprints delivering working software, alongside other data engineers, helping build data engineering capability across Sahaj.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll need

  • Real command of test-driven development and code quality, this matters as much to us as your data stack does
