Due to continued growth, we're recruiting for a Lead Data Engineer to join an ambitious technology business with exciting expansion plans. You'll play a key role in shaping the organisation's data capability, working alongside a collaborative engineering team to deliver scalable data solutions that support a range of innovative products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges within a fast-paced environment.

THE LEAD DATA ENGINEER ROLE:

As the Lead Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data platforms that support business-critical applications. You'll develop robust data pipelines, optimise data storage and processing, implement best practices around data quality and governance, and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performing data solutions. You'll also provide technical guidance, helping to drive engineering standards and continuous improvement across the data function.

LEAD DATA ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Commercial experience within a Lead Data Engineer, Senior Data Engineer or Backend Engineering role
  • Strong Python development skills
  • Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies
  • Experience working with modern data processing and orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience working within agile software engineering environments
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
