LEAD DATA SCIENTIST

UP TO £90,000 + DISCRETIONARY BONUS

THE ROLE

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will focus on building and deploying credit risk models within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive insight-led decision making across the business.

Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Developing and maintaining credit risk models, including scorecards, behavioural and acquisition models
  • Working on predictive modelling across areas such as fraud, open banking, and competitor analysis
  • Deploying models into production environments and monitoring performance
  • Collaborating with technical and business teams to deliver data-driven insights
  • Contributing to innovation projects exploring new data sources and modelling techniques

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in consumer credit or lending environments with exposure to credit risk modelling
  • Strong hands-on coding skills in Python and SQL
  • Experience developing predictive or statistical models in a commercial setting
  • Knowledge of cloud-based tools (e.g. AWS SageMaker)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Exposure to model deployment or end-to-end model lifecycle is advantageous
  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, or similar
