This hands-on, client-facing role immerses you in the full software development lifecycle, enabling you to lead mission-critical projects for high-profile clients across finance, government, and beyond. You’ll collaborate in small, multidisciplinary teams, often embedded with the client, to solve complex challenges in software engineering, data, and AI programmes.

The Role
You’ll take ownership and leadership of complex technology engagements, acting as a trusted delivery partner while balancing scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Key responsibilities include:
Core Accountabilities
- Deliver complex projects: Lead end-to-end technology projects, ensuring high standards of scope, timeline, and financial management. Foster strong, trust-based client relationships at a senior level.
- Cross-functional team leadership: Work closely with embedded client teams, combining expertises in software, data, and AI to navigate challenges.
- Consultancy and commercial responsibility: Oversee project financials—forecasting, budget management, and reporting—to achieve commercial targets.
- People management & development: Support consultant onboarding by assessing project fit. Conduct performance reviews, annual appraisals, and development planning.
- Organisational contribution: Drive lessons learned, develop best practices, and collaborate on scaling delivery strategies within Scott Logic.

Requirements
Proven Track Record

Our ideal candidate brings:
- Project management expertise: Extensive experience managing Agile software development, with understanding of Waterfall methodologies and when to apply each.
- Data and AI bandwidth: Hands-on experience delivering data or AI-driven programmes, embracing iterative and experimental approaches.
- AI & SDLC tooling: Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (code generation, automated testing, cloud platforms etc.), eager to explore advancing capabilities.
- Programme coordination: Experience liaising across multiple workstreams, suppliers, or teams—preferably in regulated or enterprise environments.
- Team leadership: Proven ability to inspire high-performing teams, including hybrid or distributed groups.
- Client-commerce balance: Adaptable mindset for navigating consultancy demands, supporting business development, and representing Scott Logic professionally.

Location
This role is based at our city centre office with occasional client travel (limited day trips or multi-day trips in UK/EU). Longer assignments available via conversation.
