Lead Software Engineer
Manchester | Hybrid (2 Days Per Week)
Up to £85,000 + 20% Annual Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Build software that powers a global SaaS platform.
We're partnering with a highly successful international SaaS business undergoing a major engineering transformation. Following significant investment into cloud-native technology, platform modernisation and engineering capability, we're looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to help shape the next generation of highly scalable products used by enterprise customers across Europe.
This is a genuine opportunity to join an engineering-first organisation where technical excellence is valued just as highly as delivery.
You'll remain hands-on while leading a small, high-performing team of engineers, influencing architecture, mentoring developers and helping define engineering standards across multiple cloud-native products.
If you're passionate about modern software engineering and enjoy solving complex distributed systems problems, this is the type of role that doesn't come around often.
The Opportunity
You'll work within one of the organisation's flagship product teams responsible for building highly available, cloud-native SaaS applications used at significant scale. Working alongside Architects, Product Managers, Platform Engineers and Quality Engineers, you'll help deliver resilient distributed systems built around microservices, event-driven architecture and modern engineering practices.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
