Role Responsibilities
As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will:
- Design and implement DevOps & Platform Engineering practices: Drive a best-of-breed model aligning infrastructure and developer needs.
- Automate full-stack infrastructure:
- Utilise Terraform and GitLab for seamless orchestration.
- Lead the design of secure, fast CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, ensuring reliable and rapid software releases.
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes (EKS) workloads:
- Leverage Istio Service Mesh for service discovery, traffic management, and observability.
- Strengthen monitoring & alerting infrastructure:
- Implement solutions using frameworks like Istio, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Foster a culture of automation, security and operational excellence:
- Mentor DevOps engineers, fostering skills growth and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies:
- Enhance platform capabilities and developer experience, with an impact on projects like Risk Intelligence.
Requirements & Skills
Core Areas of Expertise:

Hands-on AWS & Kubernetes (EKS) experience (essential focus).

Familiarity with DevOps automation tools:
- Terraform (for infrastructure-as-code).
- GitLab CI (continuous integration/continuous delivery).
- Bash & Python scripting for tasks and scripts.

Service Meshes & Observability:
- Experience with Istio, monitoring & alerting platforms, including Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK.

6+ years’ experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering roles as a lead, with a proven track record in:
- Building & operating cloud-native platforms.

Technical leadership driving deployment model benefits, culture change, or strategic thinking.
