Lead Dietitian
Senior Dietitian (Community Neurological Rehabilitation & Community Stroke Rehabilitation)
Vacancy Introduction
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to develop specialist experience within community neurological rehabilitation. This 50:50 split role will see you leading a small team of dietitians while working across the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team and the Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team within a multidisciplinary setting.
We are seeking a Dietitian with:
- Proven experience in working with neurological conditions
- Complex case management skills
- Strong multidisciplinary teamworking ability
- A willingness to embrace interdisciplinary collaboration
- Self-motivation to promote the dietetic profession

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
You will manage a clinical caseload across both teams, supporting patients with:
- A range of neurological conditions
- Oral nutritional support
- Weight management
- Diabetes management
- Home enteral feeding
- Stroke secondary prevention
- Support to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals

Essential skills include:
- Ability to address behaviour change
- Understanding of physical, cognitive, psychological, and communication barriers
- Use of complex case management and multidisciplinary approaches
Leadership & Management
- Provide line management and support to Band 6 Dietitians
- Offer dietetic leadership, clinical supervision, and service development
- Opportunities for audit and service development
- Delivery of staff training and assessment of competencies in areas including:
- Nutritional screening
- Provision of first-line nutritional advice
Collaborative Care
You will work closely with:
- Occupational therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Psychologists
- Speech and language therapists
- Nurses
- Rehabilitation consultants
- Therapy assistant practitioners
Working Patterns & Location
- Contract: 18.75 hours per week
- Location: Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust
