Data Center Electrical Technical Lead
Location: Remote / Hybrid (UK)
Role Type: Contract
About the Role
We are recruiting a contract Data Center Electrical Technical Lead to guide the design, power optimization, and continuous improvement of our hyperscale facilities. You will hold technical authority over massive power distribution infrastructure, ensuring maximum reliability, redundancy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Authority: Lead the technical review of complex electrical topologies, including campus substation planning, MV/LV distribution, and UPS systems.
- Design Validation: Perform rigorous peer reviews on external consultant schematics, protection coordination studies, and power system models.
- Risk Analytics: Partner with RAM modelers to identify redundancies and eliminate Single Points of Failure.
- Lifecycle Support: Interface with testing, commissioning, and equipment vendors to triage factory witness test failures and installation queries.

What We’re Looking For

- 10+ years of experience in detailed electrical engineering design and commissioning oversight for large-scale mission-critical infrastructure (data centres preferred).
- Deep technical expertise in MV/LV distribution, substation design, and power management systems (EPMS/SCADA).
- Strong capability to balance client-side technical strategy with operational execution.
