Lead Full-Stack Engineer – Java, Node.js & React
Location: London – 2 days per week onsite mandatory
Contract: Long-term contract
Start: ASAP
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Lead Full-Stack Engineer to join a major digital banking programme. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on across backend and frontend development.
You will contribute to the design, development and deployment of scalable banking applications using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js and React. Candidates must have strong banking domain knowledge and be ready to contribute immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of full-stack applications.
- Develop backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot and Node.js.
- Build modern user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Design and integrate solutions using Oracle databases.
- Deploy and support applications through the Azure CNE platform.
- Develop event-driven services and integrations using Kafka.
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Work closely with architects, product owners and banking stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot production issues and maintain high standards of performance, security and reliability.
- Support delivery from initial design through to deployment and production.

Mandatory Skills
- Strong commercial experience with Java, Node.js and React.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Strong Oracle Database, SQL and data-integration experience.
- Experience deploying applications through the Azure CNE deployment platform.
- Strong end-to-end full-stack development experience.
- Technical leadership or Lead Engineer experience.
- Ability to work onsite in London twice per week.

Domain Experience
- Digital banking or related financial-services platforms is strongly preferred.
