Lead Engineer – Field Quality Team

At Lotus Cars Limited, our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hethel is at the heart of crafting world-class, high-performance, lightweight sports cars—models like the Emira and all-electric Evija—which are celebrated across the globe.

As we elevate our capabilities and expand our global presence, we are seeking a Lead Engineer to join our dynamic Field Quality team.


Summary

This crucial role ensures delivery of class-leading product to Lotus customers. You’ll be part of an agile team, responsible for fast containment and resolution of all field concerns within our new manufacturing facility. We’re looking for applicants—from within and beyond the automotive sector—who embody Lotus’ entrepreneurial spirit and aspire to shape the role for exceptional customer experiences.


What You’ll Do

Resolving Top Warranty Items

  • Drive continuous improvement on top warranty items through robust practical problem solving.
  • Collaborate with all areas of the business to close out concerns and problems beyond formal reviews.
  • Exceed customer expectations in every way.
  • Champion class-leading, robust practical problem solving.

Critical Issue Management

  • Coordinate critical issues within the field action process, ensuring tight resolutions.
  • Work with key stakeholders to gather and populate all information in project documents.
  • Lead issues through the technical review group timeline, driving mitigation plans and campaign launch timelines for field actions.
  • Maintain the field action process, adhering to industry standards.
  • Improve the current system to promote best practices.
  • Compile critical concern documentation for clear review by senior leadership—covering technical and cost proposals.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for market communications, including campaign launches, and meet regional authority expectations.

Future Strategy

  • Support new product strategy.
  • Develop and execute a propagation system strategy for future models and customers.

Reporting Structure and Communication

  • Maintain, monitor, and drive core KPI deliverables.
  • Reduce total cost of quality in warranty.
  • Use PowerBI visuals to generate updates on campaign and warranty status for senior leadership.

What You’ll Bring

Knowledge

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Experience in lean operations is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of previous manufacturing and warranty/ERP systems is desirable, not essential.

Additional Information

  • Role based at the Hethel plant under Lotus’ flexible working policy.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK without Visa sponsorship.
