Role description
At Tata Technologies, we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering, and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Lead Engineer - Seating role, based in Warwick, UK.
THE ROLE
The Lead Engineer is responsible for leadership of the sub system engineers and is responsible for deliverables for all aspects of defined Seating component(s) / system(s).
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
This position is responsible for establishing, planning and running the Seating engineering sub system meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas. You will have responsibility for:
- Ensuring that the engineering sub-system delivers its objectives and targets (technical and business).
- Day to day customer coordination (Agile Framework).
- Interaction with customer and getting the firsthand information and analysing, creating queries and feasibility assessment in terms of the timelines.
- DFMEA and 8D /5W analysis.
- APQP to manage system/ component delivery.
- Identify of the critical topics and manage the key deliverables.
- Project Management: Ex: Scheduling, task creation based on timelines to meet key milestones.
- Vehicle build / Prototype support in the UK.
- Launch support in the UK.
- Overall risk Management.
- Issue and conflict resolution.
- Communicating with all relevant stakeholders.
- Make decision based on the requirements of customer.
- Building customer relationship.
- Travel to all customer and supplier sites based on requirements in the UK.
- Weekly / Monthly reporting.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Automotive seating project development experience.
- Automotive seating regulation and know how.
- Proven project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget within a product development environment.
- Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.
- Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
- PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.
- Significant experience in quality. Ex: FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.
- Successful history of delivery within the automotive product development sector.
- Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Ability to listen to customer and put forward queries and replies in positive manner.
- Lead and record the meetings and action / follow up.
- Ability to query / reply and share the information with relevant stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure with patience.

Experience level:
- Automotive seating experience is mandatory.
- Experience as Lead engineer & project management
Preferred:
- CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data.
- Ability to generate CAD data in Catia v5 would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of project delivery processes e.g. PPAP Working.
