Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future
Lead Estimator Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.
What will you do?
The purpose of the role is:
- Managing a multi skill level estimating team (Senior Estimator, Estimator, Assistant Estimator) to develop both cost planning and pricing for the Alliance Services and Plant & Logistics section of the project.
- Feeding into the Head of Estimating on the project to ensure consistency in estimating approach set out by the client.
- Capable of producing various estimating documentation that can be assured both internally and externally.
- Stakeholder management to produce the Estimate e.g., planning, procurement etc.
- Presenting, negotiating and justifying prices produced in an open and honest manner to both senior leaders within the business and/or external customers/partners.

What are we looking for?
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- Proficient in the use of excel and similar software.
- Excellent client facing/communications skills
Desirable
- Experienced estimating background using Candy Estimating Software.
- Experienced estimating background using RIB Cost X Quantification & Estimating Software.
- Experience of working with the AACE principles of Estimating Class and associated maturity
- Mobile and flexible
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Infrastructure Main Contractor background ideally in the Civil engineering market.
- Commercial or operational background considered.
Desirable
- Chartered by relevant industry recognised chartership e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB Etc
