Lead ETRM Solutions Architect

Castleton Commodities International (CCI) is hiring a Lead ETRM Solutions Architect to expand our Commodities Trading Technology team. This role sits at the center of our end-to-end trading lifecycle and is responsible for defining, architecting, and evolving the applications and integrations that support front-to-back commodities trading, from exchange connectivity and trade capture through Confirmations, Scheduling, P&L, Risk, and Settlements.

You will operate across a distributed application landscape and partner closely with Trading, Risk, Operations, and Technology leadership to deliver scalable, resilient, and well-governed solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect who can define target state architecture, guide engineering teams, and drive best practices across system design, integration patterns, and platform strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the architecture for applications and services across the end-to-end commodities trade lifecycle.
  • Lead the design of integrations between ETRM platforms and surrounding systems, establishing scalable patterns and standards utilizing technologies such as Java, messaging frameworks, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Architect robust data flows and integration frameworks, including mapping, transformations, validations, and exception handling, ensuring data accuracy, lineage, and control.
  • Partner with Trading, Risk, Scheduling, Settlements, and Accounting stakeholders to translate business strategy and requirements into scalable, future-state technical architectures and roadmaps.
  • Provide architectural oversight for production platforms, guiding incident response, root cause analysis, and the implementation of long-term, systemic solutions.
  • Establish and drive best practices for operational resiliency, including monitoring, alerting, automated controls, reconciliation frameworks, and reprocessing capabilities.
  • Govern architecture decisions with a focus on performance, scalability, maintainability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead design reviews and provide technical direction to engineering teams, promoting strong engineering standards, reusable patterns, and consistent integration approaches.
  • Drive adoption of modern SDLC and platform engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, environment strategy, and release governance.
  • Oversee and coordinate delivery across global and offshore development teams, ensuring alignment to architecture standards and high-quality execution.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
