Survival Systems International is ISO 9001:2008 certified and approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency as an Independent Lifeboat Service and Testing Organisation, authorized to carry out required periodic inspections and servicing. The company focuses on keeping safety equipment operational in accordance with SOLAS and international regulatory requirements, helping clients reduce costs, prevent breakdowns, and maintain full operational capability.
Detailed inspection reports and service documentation provide customers with clear evidence of work performed and recommendations for any additional actions.
Role Description
The Lead Field Service Technician is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing on-site service activities related to lifeboats and launch equipment. This role includes planning and executing inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with regulatory standards and company procedures.

The Lead Field Service Technician will coordinate field assignments, guide and mentor other technicians, and ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and with high technical quality. Daily tasks include:

- Preparing service documentation
- Producing detailed inspection reports
- Communicating findings and recommendations to clients
- Collaborating with internal teams to schedule and follow up on service work
The role also involves:
- Troubleshooting equipment issues
- Maintaining tools and test equipment
- Adhering to safety protocols
- Occasionally traveling to client sites as required
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in mechanical, marine, or safety equipment maintenance, including inspection, testing, and repair of lifeboats and associated launch systems.
- Experience leading field service teams or projects, with the ability to coordinate schedules, assign tasks, and mentor technicians on site.
- Knowledge of relevant safety and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOLAS, MCA, international maritime standards), and ability to apply these in daily work.
- Ability to create clear, detailed service reports and documentation, with strong written and verbal communication skills for client and internal communication.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and standard office software for reporting and scheduling.
- Proven ability to work independently in remote and field environments, exercising sound judgment and prioritizing safety.
- Relevant technical or vocational qualification in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or a related field; industry certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in maritime, offshore, or safety equipment industries is highly beneficial, along with a valid passport and readiness to travel when required.
