Lead Physiotherapist | Portsmouth Women FC

About the Role

Portsmouth Women FC is an ambitious, forward-thinking football club competing in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division (Tier 3). Following two seasons in the professional game, the club continues to invest in its women’s programme and will retain its full-time professional status as it targets an immediate return to the second tier.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead First Team Physiotherapist to join our high-performance environment and play a pivotal role in supporting the health, wellbeing and performance of our First Team players.


The Impact You’ll Make

  • Lead all medical and health-related care for our first team players
  • Deliver world-class physiotherapy and rehabilitation services, including pitch-side emergency care
  • Develop tailored injury prevention and recovery plans
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure full compliance with league regulations
  • Liaise with external consultants and specialists as needed
  • Mentor and support other medical and sports science staff
  • Promote a culture of education, wellbeing and high performance

Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with the HCPC and CSP
  • Passion for developing best practices in women’s sport
  • Leadership experience within a medical or high-performance environment
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised, professional, and confident working independently or as part of a wider team
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
