Ready to Lead the Engineering Vision Behind Our NextJS Digital Channels
Ready to lead the engineering vision behind our NextJS digital channels and shape how clients experience StepChange online.
Want to own front‑end architecture, modernise legacy tech and deliver high‑quality, cloud‑first solutions that make a real impact.
Excited to combine hands‑on development with technical leadership in an Agile environment where your decisions drive meaningful change.
As Our Lead Full Stack Developer
As our Lead Full Stack Developer, you’ll shape the future of StepChange’s digital experience—designing, building and delivering robust, scalable and high‑quality software solutions that make a real difference for our clients. As the technical authority for our NextJS web channels on AWS, you’ll own front‑end architecture decisions, create reusable components and drive cloud‑first engineering excellence.
You’ll balance modern development with the ability to support legacy Angular and.NET systems, all while working hands‑on in an Agile environment. Through close collaboration with engineering, product and business teams, you’ll lead the charge in delivering seamless, secure and impactful digital journeys.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you’ll be the driving force behind our front‑end architecture—setting standards in TypeScript, React and NextJS while ensuring performance, scalability and security across all solutions. You’ll stay hands‑on with AWS, building cloud‑native applications, reusable components and supporting legacy Angular and.NET systems when needed. You’ll champion modern engineering practices like CI/CD, GitHub Actions, automated testing and DevSecOps to deliver high‑quality, maintainable code.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
