The role

You'll build the operating system for the UK's home decarbonisation effort. This platform is already used by hundreds of installers, halving job times and doubling sales conversion for businesses on the front lines of the energy transition. With fresh investment from leading VCs, the roadmap extends into solar, batteries, and the wider home renewables supply chain.

You'll join a 13-person engineering team, taking technical ownership for core systems and writing high-leverage code. This isn't just another CRUD app; you'll tackle heat-loss physics, geospatial analysis, LiDAR-driven 3D floor plans, and offline-first PWAs. This role is for a senior IC ready to step into formal leadership, or an existing lead who wants to stay deeply technical. It is not for someone who wants to manage people full-time or abstract away from the code.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The work

Define technical direction and architecture for critical systems, writing foundational code and reference implementations. Solve complex problems in heat-loss physics, geospatial analysis at scale, and LiDAR-driven 3D modelling. Build offline-first collaborative PWAs and integrate with field measurement hardware via Bluetooth. Drive the expansion of the platform into new domains like solar, batteries, and the broader renewables supply chain.

What You Bring

Deep fluency in modern TypeScript across the stack: React, Node, and Prisma, with strong API design and relational data modelling. Proven track record owning ambiguous, end-to-end projects with real-world constraints (physical, hardware, geospatial). Experience mentoring senior engineers and fostering a high-trust technical culture. A product-minded approach: you seek user feedback and understand the real-world impact of your work. Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to attend fortnightly team meetups in London or Bristol.
