I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Over the last decade, the business has grown significantly across the UK, Europe, India and Dubai. But the culture has stayed consistent. We back people who work hard, take ownership and want to build something long term.
You’ll work alongside experienced specialists across procurement, trading, customer operations and commercial leadership, gaining exposure to a market most people only understand from headlines.
The opportunity
Energy has become one of the biggest commercial pressures facing businesses.
Customers are looking for guidance, confidence and commercially sound decisions in a market that changes constantly. That creates opportunity for salespeople who can build trust, ask the right questions and operate with professionalism.
You won’t be expected to know everything on day one. You will be trained properly, supported by experienced leaders and given the structure to develop real commercial capability over time.
What exactly will you do?
- Speaking with business customers about their energy contracts and procurement approach
- Identifying opportunities to improve customer outcomes
- Building and managing your own commercial pipeline
- Supporting tender discussions, pricing conversations and supplier negotiations
- Working closely with experienced closers and commercial managers
- Managing customer relationships professionally and compliantly
- Operating in line with company standards, governance and processes
