Lead IFS Developer

IFS ERP Lead Developer - (Apps 9, Apps 10, or IFS Cloud)

Location: Hybrid (Remote and Cambridge) Department: IT / Business Transformation Salary: £70-80k & Benefits

URGENT ROLE!

Purpose of the Position

You will be responsible for the design, development, configuration, and ongoing support of the IFS ERP environment, covering core business functions across Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Projects, HR, and more.

You’ll work closely with business analysts, architects, and end-users to deliver custom solutions, reports, and enhancements that align with our highly secure operational environment.

Responsibilities

Tasks or duties which must be performed well in the role to succeed (e.g., solution analysis, project management):

  • Design, develop, and configure IFS Applications (preferably Apps 10 or IFS Cloud) in alignment with business needs
  • Develop custom reports using IFS Reporting tools (e.g., IFS Crystal Reports, Quick Reports, IALs, Business Reporter)
  • Create and maintain custom events, workflows, PL/SQL procedures, APIs, and integration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ERP enhancements, upgrades, and patches
  • Support users in day-to-day ERP activities and troubleshoot systems
  • Ensure compliance with security and data integrity standards, including MOD or export control frameworks
  • Document technical specifications, configuration changes, and solutions
  • Participate in functional testing, UAT, and release management
  • Provide expert input into ERP roadmaps, upgrades, and cloud migration planning (for Apps 9, Apps 10 or IFS Cloud)
  • Provide Tier 1 support and liaise with external support partners

Tasks:

  • Execute day-to-day maintenance records and assessments
  • Coordinate work with engineering teams
  • Support prototype assembly for system testing processes

Education:

  • IFS Certifications such as Certified Developers, Report Developer, or Integration Developer

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with IFS Applications (Apps 9, Apps 10, or IFS Cloud)

  • Broad knowledge of IFS functional modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Projects, HR)
  • Strong report development experience: IFS Crystal Reports, Business Reporter, Quick Reports, SQL/IAL views
  • Solid understanding of PL/SQL, APIs, Custom Events, data migration tools, and Configuration Management
  • Experience working in secure and highly regulated industries (preferably aerospace/defence)
  • Current SC clearance (or eligible to obtain)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional agile teams
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities
