If you have... Experience using MS Office packages Good written, verbal and digital communication skills. Proven experience in leading infrastructure projects and managing cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including server virtualisation, storage systems, networking protocols, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Proven experience of implementing and maintaining highly available database infrastructure. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, with experience in implementing security controls and conducting risk assessments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and identify root causes effectively. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation. and you are... Accurate and organised with excellent attention to detail Able to engage with colleagues and service users, collaborating at all levels Self motivated and ambitious Have a “can do” attitude in meeting challenges and resolving problems Curious and inquisitive Able to work independently or as part of a team Calm under pressure and level headed Flexible and adaptable to change Purpose of the role The Lead Infrastructure Systems Engineer is a pivotal role within the IT department, responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the organisation's infrastructure and backend systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, organisation and leadership skills to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the infrastructure environment. The Lead Infrastructure Systems Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure solutions aligned with business objectives and industry best practices. With Harrier operating as a 24x7 business, this role is also an escalation point for operational priorities relating to infrastructure, from the regular on call (out of hours) team, and as such some out of hours working is to be expected. Technical to Managerial ratio is anticipated to be 80:20.
