Lead Instructor

Lead Instructor – Full-Time & Seasonal Outdoor Adventure Roles

The Outdoors Project Brighton & Hove

Introduction

This is a unique opportunity to lead outdoor adventure sessions all year round for children aged 5–11. If you thrive in an environment where leading a team, shaping experiences, and making a real impact is central to your role—and if you love adventure in all weathers—we want to talk to you.

The Outdoors Project Brighton & Hove is looking for an experienced, confident Lead Instructor with experience in running groups. This role isn’t just seasonal—it’s a consistent, year-round commitment with multiple pathways to growth.

About the Role

The Lead Instructor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive outdoor adventure sessions while managing a site, a small team, and the overall experience for children. Every day is different, with a balance of structured activities, experiments and pure outdoor play.

We offer more than just a workplace—it’s a chance to:

  • Shape unforgettable experiences in nature.
  • Lead teams and develop staff who share the same passion for outdoor education.
  • Work across holiday clubs, after-school clubs and children’s parties.
  • Build a sustainable career with opportunities to expand your role as the organisation grows.
  • Be part of a collective group of talented and fun-loving people who all aim to make outdoor learning better for the kids they work with.

What We Do: A 100% Outdoor Adventure Experience

Our sessions are packed with hands-on outdoor activities designed to spark imagination, build confidence, and create lasting memories:

  • Bushcraft & Fire Lighting – Learn essential outdoor skills with hands-on demonstrations.
  • Shelter Building – Working together, children design and create their own survival shelters.
  • Nerf Battles – Epic outdoor and woodland battlegrounds.
  • Survival Skills – Team challenges and winding up excitement.
  • Themed Adventures – Inspired by kids’ favourite worlds, such as Harry Potter, Pokémon and Minecraft.
  • Nature Exploration & Play – Games and experiments based on outdoor discovery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
