Job Description Summary
Systems Engineering is a cross-functional technical discipline that focuses on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and technical requirements of customers, with the goal of delivering a quality product that meets the needs of users. The discipline for implementing a solid process for designing, creating, and optimizing systems, which consists of identifying and quantifying system requirements, creating alternative system design concepts, conducting design trade-off studies, selecting and implementing the best designs, and verifying that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that runs from concept to production to operation.
Responsible for planning/executing departmental operations or focuses on executing professional activities within a technical discipline. Has some autonomy but is guided by established guidelines or the review of final results.
The position allows for changes in work processes and practices, provided that the final results meet acceptance standards (quality, scope, timeliness, etc.).
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conducts component and product integration. All activities that involve multiple components and products and focus on integration for maximum performance and usability. Manages product and system requirements, specifications, and data flow. Conducts validation and verification activities for the entire product/system, including system-level tests. Responsible for defining product requirements for the module/component/subcontractor and partner teams. Manages the interface between components and execution organizations. Responsible for driving CTQ/risk trades within the teams that design the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, as well as analytical thinking and technical experience, to implement policies/strategies.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how their own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that set the company apart in the market.
- Utilizes some judgment and has the ability to propose various solutions outside the established parameters to address more complex manufacturing processes with technical diversity and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside their own teams to make decisions.
- Serves as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Can lead small projects with low risk and resource requirements. Explains information; develops skills to move team members to a consensus on topics within the field. Communicates performance expectations and can handle confidential issues.

This role requires advanced experience. The level of knowledge is comparable to a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Effective identification and resolution of problems. Proven analytical and organizational skills.
