About the Role
Lead the Next Generation of Data Products in a Top UK Insurance Business
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Data Product Owner to play a pivotal role in building a brand-new enterprise Data function within one of the UK's largest personal lines insurance organisations.
Following a major acquisition and the integration of three well-established insurance businesses, the organisation is creating a market-leading data capability to support its future growth. This is a unique chance to join at the start of this journey and influence how data products are designed, delivered, and scaled across the business.
The organisation is making significant investments in:
- A market-leading core insurance platform (EIS)
- Azure
- Databricks
- AI-driven capabilities

Key Responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap, and delivery of strategic data products
- Prioritise and manage a value-driven backlog across data, analytics, and MI initiatives
- Translate complex business requirements into well-defined epics, features, and user stories
- Lead Agile Scrum teams comprising:
- Data Engineers
- Analysts
- QA & Technical Specialists
- Build and sustain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions
- Balance competing priorities, manage dependencies, and remove delivery blockers
- Drive product ownership best practice across the wider Data function
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of modern data technologies
- Ensure product delivery aligns with:
- Commercial objectives
- Customer outcomes
- Regulatory requirements
About You
You’ll need an experienced Product Owner with a strong background in delivering data products within insurance (or another highly regulated environment). You combine commercial awareness with a technical understanding, and you thrive in translating business strategy into successful product delivery.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Proven experience as a Lead/ Senior Product Owner or Data Product Owner
- Previous experience in the insurance sector (personal lines highly beneficial)
- Strong understanding of:
- Data platforms
- Analytics and MI
- Modern cloud-based data solutions
- Experience with:
- Azure
- Databricks
- Similar data platforms
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including influencing strategies at senior levels
- Strong Agile delivery experience with Scrum teams
- Experience in creating and managing:
- Product roadmaps
- Prioritised backlogs
- Knowledge of SQL and data concepts
- A collaborative leadership style, with a passion for delivering business value through data
