About The FCA & Team

We regulate UK financial services to ensure fair, thriving, and effective markets. Your role will directly contribute to protecting consumers, driving growth, and shaping UK finance.

Supervision, Policy & Competition (SPC)

SPC oversees firms/individuals (supervision), crafts/reviews rules (policy), and addresses competition gaps (competition).

The Insurance division supervises ~5,000 UK insurers and intermediaries.

The Market Analysis & Policy (MAP) Insurance Projects team specialises in:

  • Scoping and executing multi-firm projects to address conduct risks in the insurance sector.
  • Building sector insights by identifying risks that may harm consumers or FCA statutory objectives.
  • Supporting cross-functional FCA initiatives (e.g., market interventions) and collaborating with peers in Insurance MAP and Market Intervention teams.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the scoping and planning of multi-firm projects to tackle systemic market/conduct issues.
  • Collaborate across the FCA to execute project work effectively.
  • Program/cut-out firm interactions and visits—keep engagements on track, manage coordination, and deliver findings.
  • Analyse firm data/to mars issue-spotting and guide further engagements/interventions.
  • Document interactions and compile clear, concise conclusions for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Provide internal/external updates (verbal/written) to FCA leadership, firms, and stakeholders post-project.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies, leveraging FCA’s regulatory toolkit (e.g., supervision, policy, enforcement).
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate project outcomes effectively.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
