About the Role & Team

This cross-functional team includes data analysts, accountants, and operations managers. Their scope extends beyond traditional financial reconciliations to include:

  • Upstream data procurement and analysis
  • Downstream investigations of mismatched records
  • Cross-organisational engagement to resolve root causes of reconciliation discrepancies

Their core mission is to ensure Zepz accurately represents money owed to/from partners in financial statements. This safeguards all users—ensuring funds are paid out correctly and unpaid amounts are recovered to invest in the business.

The team also:

  • Prevents losses by quickly identifying errors in payment processes
  • Works cross-functionally and externally to resolve issues promptly

Role: Lead Investigations & Disputes Analyst

What You Bring to the Table

Zepz is seeking a data-savvy, outcomes-driven Lead Investigations & Disputes Analyst for a new end-to-end Financial Reconciliation Team. In this role, you’ll:

  • Leverage advanced data skills to uncover, interpret, and resolve high-profile financial challenges.
  • Collaborate with Zepz teams and external partners to achieve financial results and improve user payments experience.

What You Will Focus On

  • Independent data analysis:

    • Write SQL queries
    • Build dashboards
    • Identify and track losses strategically
  • Investigation and resolution:

    • Investigate mismatched transactions—both internally and externally with partners
    • Resolve discrepancies to their accurate status
  • Loss prevention:

    • Identify and resolve root causes of business and user losses

  • Loss disputes:

    • Dispute losses with external partners based on data-driven analysis
  • Early loss detection:

    • Work with product and engineering teams to develop faster mechanisms for detecting potential losses

Nice to Have (Bonus Points If)

✓ Experience with AutoRek ✓ Background in investigating/reconciling accounting discrepancies ✓ Advanced Mode/DataBricks experience ✓ Payments or fintech industry experience ✓ Remote/fast-paced-startup work environment experience ✓ Fluency in Spanish/French (or other high-value languages)


AI Literacy & Tools

As Zepz builds AI into daily operations, we expect everyone to engage with it proactively. For this role, we seek:

  • Curiosity about AI applications—in accelerating analysis, improving processes, and delivering solutions.
  • Practical AI experience—whether connecting data, drafting content, or building frameworks.
  • Strong AI literacy—knowing what AI can/cannot do, critiquing output, and using AI ethically.
  • Ethical awareness—especially in handling sensitive data, customer interactions, and compliance.

While experience with Claude (Anthropic) is a plus, the key trait is genuine enthusiasm for AI as a productivity tool.
