About the Role:

Our Investigation teams cover all of England and Wales, conducting hundreds of independent investigations annually, often under extreme pressure. As a Lead Investigator, you will be part of a dynamic investigations team, working locally and nationally on a wide range of investigations that are often in the public eye within the Investigation, Oversight, and Casework directorate. This role offers an opportunity to develop your mindset and approaches to contribute to improving the police complaints system in England and Wales.

Core Investigations:

The investigations team is tasked with upholding our values while establishing the facts behind a complaint and reaching conclusions to draw recommendations. You will lead all aspects of an investigation, from setting out the initial terms of reference to collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, drawing conclusions, and writing a final report. Many of these reports are published and include recommendations for police forces or Police and Crime Commissioners about actions to be taken to improve practice and prevent mistakes in the future.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
