Lead Java Software Engineer
Lead Java Software Developer | Sports Betting Hedge Fund Startup | London - Fully Remote

We're hiring a Lead Java Software Developer to join a cutting-edge sports betting hedge fund startup in London. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, quantitative research, and systematic trading, building high-performance systems that directly impact trading outcomes. You’ll collaborate closely with world-class quantitative researchers, mathematicians, trading analysts, and elite software engineers in a highly technical, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Working On:
- Building external integrations with betting exchanges and data providers
- Developing scalable backend services in Java
- Supporting and enhancing systematic trading models
- Contributing to greenfield projects from day one
- Working across modern cloud and DevOps environments
Requirements:
- 8+ years of commercial Java development experience
- Experience managing/mentoring teams and ambition to lead a large team
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field ( must have )
- Experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
- Proficiency with RESTful and streaming API integrations
- Knowledge of AWS and Linux
- Strong understanding of database and data structures
- Self-starter mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
