Lead Learning Support Assistant Specialist SEND School Camden Immediate Start

This welcoming specialist SEND school in the London Borough of Camden is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. Supporting pupils with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech & Language needs, and complex additional needs, the school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, outstanding pastoral care, and commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or HLTA looking to step into a leadership role within a highly supportive specialist setting.

What the Role Involves

As Lead Learning Support Assistant, you will support the day-to-day coordination of Learning Support Assistants across the school, ensuring pupils receive high-quality support that reflects their individual Education, Health and Care Plans. You'll work closely with teachers and senior leaders to model outstanding classroom practice, mentor and coach support staff, assist with inductions, and help maintain consistently high standards of teaching and learning support. You'll also liaise with therapists, pastoral teams, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive a joined-up and personalised provision.

What the School is Looking For

The ideal Lead Learning Support Assistant will have substantial experience supporting pupils with SEND and be confident leading by example within the classroom. Previous experience mentoring Teaching Assistants, delivering interventions, or taking on additional responsibilities would be highly advantageous. The school is looking for a calm, organised, and proactive professional with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting both pupils and colleagues to achieve their full potential.
