Industry: Industrial Engineering & Manufacturing Salary: £60k-£65k Location: Suffolk
A proactive and experienced Mechanical Engineer is sought for an exciting opportunity within a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. You will play a key role in shaping day-to-day engineering activities, product enhancements, customisation projects, and technical support—working across a diverse product portfolio within a collaborative engineering team.
This role is ideal for a passionate engineer who thrives on a dynamic blend of leadership, design, problem-solving, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead product enhancement and customisation projects from concept development through to final release
- Provide daily leadership of the design team
- Oversee engineering changes, technical documentation, and drawing updates
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and production teams
- Conduct prototype development, testing, and validation activities
- Participate in design reviews, FMEA activities, and engineering investigations
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Competency leading and mentoring engineers within a team
- Extensive experience with 2D and 3D CAD modelling
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T and adherence to engineering drawing standards
- Familiarity with engineering change processes and maintenance of technical documentation
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and product development principles
- Bonus if you have experience in FEA, hydraulics, pneumatics, or control systems
