Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

I'm working with an innovative technology company developing ruggedised hardware for demanding real-world environments. They're looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of mechanical development, leading products from concept through to production while influencing design quality, reliability and performance.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading mechanical design from concept to manufacture
  • Improving product reliability and environmental performance
  • Material selection, thermal management and sealing strategies
  • Prototyping, testing and product validation
  • Championing Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA)

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience developing complex hardware products
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Siemens NX or similar)
  • A track record of taking products from concept through to manufacture
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
  • The ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
