Job Description Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work within a cross-functional team to achieve the agreed deliverables, from concept to delivery.
  • Act as the mechanical design authority within the customer project engineering team, and occasionally for other teams, ensuring decisions are made in a timely manner.
  • Review design drawings within various stages of the design process and ensure approval is given timely.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance where the design is out of scope or not right for the required application.
  • Lead on standardization, continuous improvement, or other lean activities as requested, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes are considered, such as kaizen, RCA, 8D.
  • Ensure the team culture and prioritization of work is focused on our customer needs, empowering individuals through teamwork, accountability, problem solving, listening, and acting.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical (or equivalent with experience).
  • Significant proven experience in an industrial setting.
  • CAD tools experience - Certified in Solidworks / AutoCAD with experience of creating detailed drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
  • Proven experience in approving engineering designs across multiple system types.
  • Trained in lean tools and processes.
