Creative (AI Specialist)

About the Role

This position is based in our Marketing & Technology service office in London. At DEPT®, we combine data, technology, creative, and paid media to solve brands’ core business problems and drive revenue through a diverse range of digital marketing solutions, including:

  • Social media
  • Influencer campaigns
  • TTL adjacency ads
  • Augmented reality
  • AI-driven innovations

We serve high-profile clients like eBay, easyJet, Just Eat Takeaway, and PepsiCo.

This is an opportunity to work with our AI-focused clients, producing broad-ranging creative outputs from routine BAU responses to high-stakes in-person workshops and global productions. A dynamic portfolio showcasing versatility and experience across these domains is essential.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional creative team—including designers, producers, and strategists—to deliver impactful, award-winning work. With senior stakeholders across the UK and US, your communication and presentation skills will be critical to fast-paced, client-facing delivery.


Key Responsibilities

Your role demands both creative ingenuity and business acumen:

  • Develop award-winning ideas that engage audiences and align with brand objectives while meeting constraints of budget, deadline, and campaign integration.
  • Collaborate with the accounts team to ensure smooth monthly production workflows and client handoffs.
  • Stay current with media trends, pop culture, and emerging tech (e.g., AI image generation, generative workflows).
  • Present work internally and externally with polished diligence; attend and contribute to client-facing creative sprints and in-person workshops.
  • Shape new business pitches to support agency growth and expand into cutting-edge platforms.
  • Mentor fellow creatives and drive performance through culture-building efforts (networking events, skill-sharing, positive environment).
  • Fostering a detailed, perfectionist approach—ensuring work meets the highest standards.
  • Champion innovation and experimentation, pushing boundaries through new tech (e.g., AI tools like Imagen*, VR, AR).

Requirements

Critical qualifications:

✔ AI-native mindset: A genuine passion for AI’s role in advertising/marketing and interest in exploring its limits.

✔ Startlingly broad portfolio: A history of mixed frameworks spanning AI, technology-driven campaigns, social engagements, or experimental formats.

✔ Creative rigor: Unflinching eye for detail, whether fine-tuning pixel work or aligning to a client’s voice.

✔ Team-collaborative: Buy-in to a community-driven model, where generosity of knowledge and lift-as-you-climb ethos matter.

✔ Technologically fluent: Experience with a range of platforms (creative/paid media) alongside understanding of AI-generated assets.

❗ Must-do tech characteristic: Proficient in Figma; AI-powered visual generation (e.g., for ads/archetypes) preferred.

Minimal requirements:

  • A knack for exploration and experimentation—curiosity is currency.
  • Desire to mentor others, help creating a positive atmosphere.
