Lead Nurse – Urology & ENT Service

About the Role The Lead Nurse will provide clinical, professional, and managerial leadership to nursing staff within the Urology & ENT Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care while driving quality initiatives and financial efficiency.

The role is pivotal in supporting organisational objectives and maintaining quality standards, with a focus on:

  • Leading clinical and managerial teams
  • Ensuring robust governance processes for excellent care delivery
  • Driving efficiency within the Directorate

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide credible clinical leadership and support to nursing staff at all levels
  • Maintain a consistent, high-standard approach to delivering person-centred care
  • Drive quality improvements and financial efficiency across the Directorate
  • Establish and uphold strong governance frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance and high standards
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that prioritises patient care, staff development, and teamwork

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • A registered First Level Nurse (Current NMC registration is mandatory)
  • Extensive experience as a Band 7 equivalent (preferably Senior Charge Nurse)
  • Hold a first-level nursing degree or equivalent qualification (supplemented experience acceptable)

Desirable Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, mentoring, and team development
  • Strong understanding of уrology and ENT nursing practices
  • Experience in financial management within healthcare settings
  • Commitment to quality improvement and patient-centred care
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
